The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan announced a meeting between Deputy Chairman Sirojiddin Ikromi and a visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, focused on priorities under the Policy Coordination Instrument programme, including financial market development, reform of the national insurance system and the digitisation of banking services. Discussions covered the outlook for the financial market, steps to develop insurance services, progress achieved to date and future plans. In the insurance reform agenda, the parties highlighted the recent development of Tajikistan’s insurance market and prioritised introducing new reporting standards and creating a more supportive legislative framework. The meeting also addressed implementation of the government’s policy on expanding non-cash payments and the digitisation of financial services.
