The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and Canada’s Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation on supervising investment managers of collective investment schemes operating in either jurisdiction. The MoU is intended to strengthen regulatory collaboration and information exchange. Following the signing, the SFC added Ontario to its list of Acceptable Inspection Regimes, enabling OSC-licensed managers to provide investment management services for SFC-authorised funds, in line with Note to 5.1 of the Code on Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds.
