The National Bank of Georgia published the second 2026 issue of its scientific and analytical journal, Monetary Economics, featuring research by central bank staff and external authors on monetary policy, banking and financial-market developments. The articles examine income inequality and its potential effect on monetary policy transmission, drivers and structural changes in Georgia’s current account, and the implications of cryptocurrencies for monetary choice and financial globalization. The issue also covers the shift from traditional banking to super-app ecosystems, including permitted banking activities, as well as credit derivatives, securitization and multi-name credit instruments. The journal is published in Georgian and English.
