The Federal Reserve Bank of New York appointed Anna Nordstrom as Head of the Markets Group, effective immediately, and named her to the New York Fed’s Executive Committee. She had served as interim Head of the Markets Group since December 2024. Nordstrom has led the Domestic and International Markets Function since 2023, overseeing implementation of domestic monetary policy operations as directed by the Federal Open Market Committee, foreign exchange operations on behalf of the FOMC and the U.S. Treasury, and execution of the Federal Reserve’s central bank liquidity swap lines. Her remit has also included oversight of U.S. money market reference rate production and related analysis of domestic and international policy developments; she joined the New York Fed in 2008 and previously held roles at the European Central Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and Sveriges Riksbank.
