The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has announced the membership of its Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC), re-launching the forum to provide agricultural growers, producers, and other market participants with a structured channel to inform the agency’s policy and regulatory decisions. Chairman Michael S. Selig is sponsoring the committee and nominated Emma Johnston as the designated federal officer. The AAC has been positioned as an information source on policy affecting farmers and ranchers, with members appointed from across the agricultural supply chain and financial and market infrastructure, including representatives from producer groups and trade associations, the United States Department of Agriculture, banks, futures exchanges and clearing-related market participants, and commodity firms.
