The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) participated in the official launch of Jubilee Life Insurance’s Akiba Flex Plan, a new product designed to help Tanzanians save and invest while also obtaining life insurance protection. The launch event was held in Dar es Salaam with participation from insurance sector stakeholders, financial institutions and government representatives. On behalf of the Commissioner of Insurance, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance Khadija Said welcomed the product as an example of innovation aimed at addressing financial challenges across different groups, and framed it as a combined savings and life protection offering for individuals and families. She also emphasised TIRA’s ongoing role in overseeing access to quality insurance services and highlighted timely claims settlement as a priority for strengthening public trust in the sector. Jubilee Life Insurance’s board chair described the product as responding to changing customer needs by combining affordability, savings discipline and digital convenience, while its chief executive explained that it aims to bridge the gap between financial protection and flexible customer contributions, including for first-time life insurance users and existing customers seeking an additional affordable option.
