The Bank of Mozambique issued a circular setting the reporting templates and submission rules that credit institutions and financial companies must use to provide statistical information required under Notice No. 5/GBM/2025 for the compilation of statistics covering payment instruments, access channels to financial services and securities. The reporting must follow the models in the annex and be submitted through the Banking Supervision Application (BSA) portal. Unless a template specifies daily reporting, submissions are monthly and due by the 15th day of the month following the reference period; ATM transaction reporting is specified as daily, one day after the reference period. Where institutions temporarily lack the operational capacity to report via BSA or the portal is unavailable, reporting may be made exceptionally by email. The circular enters into force on 28 January 2026 and requires parallel reporting under the previous and new regimes for 90 days, after which reporting must be exclusively under the new regime. It also repeals Circulars No. 01/EMO/2020, No. 07/EMO/2021 and No. 05/EFI/2021.
