The Financial Superintendence of Colombia published remarks by Financial Superintendent César Ferrari from his participation in the ministerial seminar “Innovation of the Financial System for Developing Countries” in Beijing, where he framed the event as an opportunity to learn from China’s recent financial-sector development and regulatory approach, particularly as financial institutions become more digital. Attending at the invitation of China’s Ministry of Commerce, Ferrari highlighted China’s rapid development and referred to the evolution of the financial system in recent years, including new products, procedures, and supervisory and regulatory practices. He also pointed to a specific interest in understanding how digitisation is transforming banks, insurers and financial markets, how individual investors are adapting, and how Chinese authorities are implementing Open Finance and digital supervision.
