The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission, working with the Institute of Corporate Directors, concluded a secondment programme for officials from the Lao Securities Commission Office aimed at sharing supervisory and corporate governance practices among ASEAN capital market regulators, with a focus on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Held from December 1 to 12, 2025 at the SEC Headquarters in Makati City, the sessions were facilitated by the SEC Corporate Governance and Finance Department and the Institute of Corporate Directors as the Philippines’ domestic ranking body for the scorecard. The programme covered the structure and evolution of the scorecard, the Philippine assessment process, and the SEC’s monitoring mechanisms for publicly listed companies, and included a review of how the Philippines aligns its Code of Corporate Governance with ASEAN and global benchmarks such as the G20/OECD Principles, alongside identification of gaps in Lao PDR’s current framework.
