In remarks at a forum during the 13th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival, Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Solikin M. Juhro outlined a regional strategy to expand financing for productive businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises. The strategy combines Islamic commercial funding with social finance instruments such as zakat and waqf, creating a pathway for businesses that do not yet fully meet bank financing requirements to develop progressively. The approach centers on strengthening Regional Committees for Islamic Economy and Finance, developing end-to-end halal value chains and matching business needs with suitable funding sources. Bank Indonesia’s Productive Synergy, Financing Synergy and Participation Synergy framework supports this work through region-specific sector development, financing connections and broader participation in Islamic financial services. Separately, national and regional authorities updated cross-sector collaboration guidelines in 2026 to integrate Islamic economy development into regional planning. Twenty-seven provinces have included the sector in their long- and medium-term development plans, while 23 have incorporated related indicators into their medium-term plans.
