The Moroccan Insurance Authority (ACAPS) hosted a delegation from Burkina Faso in Rabat from 13 to 17 October 2025 for an exchange and experience-sharing mission focused on climate risk management capacity building and the development of agricultural insurance. The initiative was supported by the United Nations Development Program and Burkina Faso’s Insurance Directorate. During meetings with ACAPS President Abderrahim Chaffai, discussions covered the establishment of an effective and inclusive agricultural insurance system and potential areas for institutional cooperation. Exchanges centred on Morocco’s regulatory framework, climate risk coverage mechanisms and observed best practices, with the stated aim of improving understanding of Morocco’s agricultural insurance arrangements and laying the groundwork for future cooperation between the two countries. ACAPS framed the mission as part of Morocco-supported South-South cooperation, delivered through capacity building, expertise sharing and regional partnerships among African supervisory authorities.
