The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) announced the establishment of SBV Regional Branch 15 through the consolidation of its provincial branches in Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap and Ca Mau, and issued staffing decisions for the new unit’s leadership. Headquartered in Rach Gia city in Kien Giang, Regional Branch 15 is tasked with supporting the SBV Governor’s state management of monetary, banking and foreign exchange activities across the four provinces and carrying out delegated central bank operations. The Governor appointed Vo Hong Nho, Lieu Tri Tai and Vuong Tri Phong as deputy directors, while Tran Van Phuoc was assigned as acting director; additional appointments were also made for department head and deputy head roles. The branch’s remit covers more than 100 credit institutions and 682 transaction points, with outstanding loans in the four provinces estimated at around VND 451,000 billion, including over VND 238,000 billion in agriculture and rural lending. Following the launch event, SBV held a conference chaired by Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu on promoting bank credit to support economic growth in Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap and Ca Mau.
