The Central Bank of Egypt published its June 2026 inflation statement, showing annual urban headline inflation eased to 14.3% from 14.6% in May. Annual core inflation moved in the opposite direction, rising to 14.3% from 13.8%. On a monthly basis, urban consumer prices fell 0.4%, while core prices increased 0.3%. The urban consumer price index released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics compared with a 0.1% monthly decline in June 2025 and a 1.6% increase in May 2026. The core consumer price index compiled by the Central Bank of Egypt compared with a 0.2% monthly decline in June 2025 and a 1.6% increase in May 2026. The bank said its monthly inflation analysis will be published on July 15, 2026.
