The Bank of Spain held the 13th Centre for Economic Policy Research History Symposium and the 11th Bank of Spain Economic History Seminar at its Roda de Berà premises on 27 to 29 May. Opened by Deputy Governor Soledad Núñez, the event brought together representatives of both institutions and the international academic community to discuss key issues in economic history. Topics included globalisation and the legacies of colonisation, financial, banking and monetary history, financial integration in the interwar period and the role of institutions. Sessions also covered technological and cultural change, demographic trends, gender gaps and economic empowerment.
