The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Council of Europe’s MONEYVAL announced they will hold a joint Plenary meeting in Strasbourg on 12–13 June 2025, following two days of working group sessions, to strengthen the global response to illicit finance threats. The joint Plenary will be chaired by FATF President Elisa de Anda Madrazo and MONEYVAL Chair Nicola Muccioli and will convene members of the FATF Global Network of more than 200 countries and international organisations. MONEYVAL, a permanent body of the Council of Europe and a FATF-Style Regional Body, assesses 32 European jurisdictions for compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures. After the Plenary, Chairs of FATF-Style Regional Bodies will meet on 14 June for a high-level annual meeting focused on partnerships and knowledge exchange across the Global Network. FATF will also hold a Technical Assistance Peer Exchange on 14 June aimed at addressing strategic issues in supporting less-resourced countries, bringing together Global Network members with donors and providers of technical assistance and capacity building.
