The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan announced that its TJS 100 commemorative banknote, issued for the 25th anniversary of the somoni, has been named a finalist in the International Association of Currency Affairs 2026 awards in the Best Commemorative Banknote category. The International Association of Currency Affairs awards recognise achievements in cash circulation, currency technology and banknote design. The central bank said the note was released into circulation to mark 25 years of Tajikistan's national currency and was designed to reflect milestones in statehood, economic development and the financial system. It highlighted the note's nationally distinctive design, modern security features and print quality, and added that this is the second international recognition for the banknote after an award presented on 2 December 2025 at the High Security Printing conference in Kuala Lumpur.
