The National Bank of Ethiopia said Gov. Eyob Tekalign met British International Investment Chief Executive Leslie Maasdorp for a high-level discussion on Ethiopia's economic transformation and investment opportunities, with a particular focus on financial sector reform. The meeting centered on the trajectory of banking and financial sector changes, including measures the release linked to price stability, financial deepening, foreign exchange liberalization and greater competition in the banking sector. BII outlined priority areas in Ethiopia under its new strategy, covering financial services, financial inclusion, sustainable financing and infrastructure, particularly energy. Gov. Eyob said those areas align with Ethiopia's national economic reform agenda, welcomed BII's increased investment allocations to its Ethiopia portfolio and encouraged further engagement.
