The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia held its annual ceremony to present awards from its art and literary competition for primary and secondary school students, organised with the Ministry of Finance to mark World Savings Day, featuring remarks by Governor Trajko Slaveski and Deputy Minister Nikolche Jankulovski. Slaveski framed saving as a life approach that supports personal goals, future security and broader social stability, and linked the submitted works to the role of financial education in building financially literate young people, particularly in a period of rapid change and digitalisation. The 2025 competition received several hundred entries focused on the importance of saving, financial literacy and the role of financial services in the modern digital era, with themes set separately for primary and secondary students; running since 2012, the initiative is positioned as a platform for encouraging responsible money management. The central bank indicated it will continue financial literacy outreach through lectures, workshops, competitions and contests, noting that thousands of pupils and students participate in its educational activities each year.
