The Bank of Mozambique issued a circular updating the reporting procedures for foreign exchange operations carried out using bank cards, aligning reporting instructions with the limits introduced for payments abroad made with bank cards under Notice No. 09/GBM/2025. The changes update the information to be reported, the reporting frequency, the submission mechanism and the reporting templates. Reporting on cross-border card payment operations, including cash withdrawals, made with bank cards issued by domestic banks at foreign banks’ terminals (ATMs, POS or website gateways) must be submitted daily via the Bank Supervision Application (BSA) using Map Annex C. A new daily reporting line is also introduced for bank cards blocked for payments abroad, to be submitted via BSA using Map Annex I. Map Annex C must include only transactions settled on the reporting day, regardless of the transaction date, and for prepaid card transactions the account number and NIB fields are not mandatory. The revised reporting requirements enter into force on 22 December 2025.
