Switzerland's Federal Department of Finance announced that Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will meet the United Kingdom’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, in London on 24 March 2026 to discuss the agreement on mutual recognition in financial services, alongside current geopolitical challenges. Talks will focus on the application of the Berne Financial Services Agreement (BFSA), in force since 1 January 2026, which improves cross-border market access across banking, insurance, asset management and capital market infrastructure. The agenda also covers the impact of geopolitical developments on financial markets and the competitiveness of European financial markets. Keller-Sutter is also scheduled to meet Andrew Bailey, Governor of the UK’s central bank and Chair of the Financial Stability Board, and representatives of the UK government.

Switzerland's Federal Department of Finance announced that Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will meet the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, to discuss the Berne Financial Services Agreement (BFSA) and geopolitical challenges. The BFSA, effective since 1 January 2026, enhances cross-border market access in banking, insurance, asset management, and capital market infrastructure. Keller-Sutter will also meet Andrew Bailey, Governor of the UK’s central bank, and other UK representatives.
