The National Reserve Bank of Tonga delivered an outreach programme in the Vava’u region from 30 March to 2 April 2026 to support public understanding and use of the 2023 banknote series. Activities included visits to selected government schools and the distribution of guidance materials on the new notes to retail businesses, offices and banks. The programme also included a meeting with managers of commercial banks in Vava’u, with Assistant Governor Ungatea Latu highlighting the engagement as a way to hear stakeholder issues directly and support the central bank’s work in the region.
