Chile's Financial Market Commission announced that Osvaldo Adasme Donoso has taken office as a new CMF Commissioner, with a term running until October 2029. The CMF board is now composed of Chairwoman Catherine Tornel, Deputy Chairman Augusto Iglesias, and commissioners Bernardita Piedrabuena, Beltrán de Ramón, and Osvaldo Adasme. Adasme is a commercial engineer from the University of Chile and has 35 years of financial market experience, including specialized studies in project assessment and an MBA from IEDE Business School. He joined the former Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions in 1990, held roles including Head of the Supervision Department, Director of Supervision and Supervision Intendant, and since March 2021 has served as the CMF’s General Director of Prudential Supervision. He has also acted as an International Monetary Fund consultant on Financial Sector Assessment Programs and provided regional technical assistance and training on credit risk supervision and risk management.
