HM Treasury has announced the fully operational Office for Investment: Financial Services, a free one-stop “concierge” support service designed to help global financial services firms invest and expand in the UK. The service sits within the Office for Investment and is intended to cut red tape and reduce barriers by providing regulatory guidance, business support and investment help. The initiative is delivered as a partnership between HM Treasury, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Conduct Authority and the City of London Corporation. It will promote investment opportunities across the UK’s nations and regions, working with regional investment bodies and financial services clusters, and is positioned as a measure under the Government’s Financial Services Growth and Competitiveness Strategy, which sets out a ten-year plan for the sector.
