The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has released product-level data on superannuation retirement products for the first time, aiming to increase transparency on investment returns, fees and costs, and investment strategies that influence retirement incomes. The inaugural publication covers key performance data for 600 multi-sector investment options where the trustee sets the investment strategy or manages the investments. It includes breakdowns of product fee structures, investment strategies and associated strategic asset allocations, with APRA positioning the enhanced disclosure as supporting competition and innovation as more Australians approach retirement. APRA will provide further insights on retirement product data over time, including in the 2026 Comprehensive Product Performance Package, and has published the dataset via its Quarterly Superannuation Product Statistics.
