The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and in partnership with Luxembourg’s Ministry of Finance, co-organized a “Derivatives Market” workshop on 16–17 June 2025 under a cooperation agreement signed on 22 January 2025. The workshop focused on derivatives operations and risk management, the potential benefits and drawbacks of derivatives in Cambodia, derivatives in emerging markets, and an in-depth review of local master agreements and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Master Agreement. It also covered Cambodia’s regulatory framework for derivatives, including the current and anticipated future situation, alongside recommendations and future plans for regulators and industry participants.
