The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) announced that insurance sector stakeholders held a five-kilometre “Bima Walk” in Arusha to encourage wider use of insurance, as part of activities leading up to Tanzania Insurance Day. The walk started and ended at Mgambo Grounds in Arusha. Arusha District Commissioner Joseph Mkude, the guest of honour, praised participating stakeholders and the organising committee for choosing the city for this year’s campaign, while Chief Secretary and Secretary to the Cabinet Engineer Zena Said joined as a special guest. Hawa Mniga, Director of Human Resources and Administration speaking on behalf of the Insurance Commissioner, said the event had strengthened momentum for insurance uptake in Arusha and the wider community. Tanzania Insurance Day was scheduled for 20 June 2025.

The event, attended by Arusha District Commissioner Joseph Mkude and Chief Secretary Engineer Zena Said, aimed to boost insurance uptake in the region.
