The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) announced a package of incentives and on-site support tied to its participation in Web Summit Qatar, aimed at accelerating company set-up for firms entering or expanding in Qatar. Companies registering with QFC during the summit will have registration and annual fees waived for the first three years and may receive a tax credit for the first three years if they select at least one technology activity from the approved activities list. The registration process will be supported through an integrated one-stop-shop model, with Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Labour representatives available to help complete key regulatory procedures and related permits in a single location. Corporate banking support will also be offered through dedicated booths from Qatar National Bank and Doha Bank, alongside QFC’s wider network of bank agreements, to enable eligible firms to open corporate accounts more quickly. QFC cited last year’s Web Summit Qatar, when more than 700 companies registered with QFC over four days.
