EBA CLEARING and Finans Danmark are launching the STEP2 DKK Service to process retail account-to-account bulk payments in Danish kroner, with go live scheduled for November 2026. The arrangement will let Danish payment service providers use the same STEP2 infrastructure for both SEPA and kroner payments, which the parties said should streamline operations and reduce costs. STEP2 DKK is designed as a copy of EBA CLEARING's STEP2 SEPA Credit Transfer service and will be operated by Clearing Services, a subsidiary of Finans Danmark. All Danish payment service providers are already connected to the service and are testing it. Migration from Denmark's existing clearing system to STEP2 DKK is expected to be completed by April 2027.
