The Central Bank of Chile has expanded the “Capital Markets” chapter of its Statistical Database (BDE) by adding new datasets in the “Equities” and “Consolidated banking information” sections to improve public access to financial information for analysing Chile’s capital markets. The banking section now includes consolidated financial statements (financial position and results) for each bank, based on information reported to the Financial Market Commission (CMF), supporting analysis of institutions’ relative size and the performance of systemic banks versus the sector. The equities section adds monthly stock market data, including the number of registered companies, market capitalisation, traded amounts and valuation indicators price/earnings (RPU) and price-to-book, sourced from the Santiago Stock Exchange. The update also publishes a new set of Financial Soundness Indicators compiled from CMF data to assess banks’ stability, solvency, profitability, liquidity and risk exposures, including their potential role in transmitting systemic risk.
