The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that Governor Jasmina Selimovic participated in the Bank of Albania’s centennial conference in Tirana, speaking on a panel on Europe’s strategic choices and challenges. She highlighted current economic and geopolitical pressures on Europe and framed the European Union as central to preserving stability and supporting the convergence of Western Balkan countries toward EU membership. In her remarks, Selimovic described Europe as being at a turning point amid strong global competition and geopolitical change, while remaining an anchor for trade, finance and institutional development in Southeast Europe. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, she positioned the European path as a framework for stability, development and institution-building, and stressed that central bank independence is foundational to trust and the security of the financial system. She also emphasised longstanding cooperation between the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bank of Albania, including exchanges on monetary policy, financial stability and banking system modernisation.
