The Uzbekistan Ministry of Finance reported that, during a meeting in Samarkand held on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank Board of Governors, officials discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation. The talks focused on projects being implemented with JBIC participation and related financing, and ended with an agreement to further develop cooperation, broaden the scale of joint projects, and improve their effectiveness. Discussions covered public-private partnership infrastructure projects, particularly in healthcare, energy, including wider use of renewable energy sources, and transport and logistics infrastructure. The sides also exchanged views on attracting Japanese companies to these projects and on project financing arrangements.
