The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye reported that it hosted the IOSCO Assessment Committee meeting on July 8-9 at the Borsa Istanbul campus. The meeting brought together nearly 30 participants from committee member jurisdictions and representatives of relevant international stakeholder organizations to discuss how IOSCO members’ implementation of the Objectives and Principles of Securities Regulation is assessed. Discussions focused on the assessment methodology, self-assessment processes and capacity-building work. The agenda also centered on work under the IOSCO Standards Implementation and Monitoring project, the thematic review of the Crypto and Digital Asset Recommendations and its assessment methodology, and the Evaluators Workshop. The board described the Assessment Committee as one of IOSCO’s two main policy committees and highlighted its role in promoting consistent implementation of IOSCO principles across jurisdictions.
