The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has published updated guidance for financial market operators, derivative trade repositories and financial benchmark administrators under the enhanced financial market infrastructure regulatory framework. The updates finalize proposals consulted on in April 2026 and reflect reforms introduced by the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Act 2024, which commenced in September 2024. ASIC made only minor editorial amendments to Regulatory Guide 172 on domestic and overseas financial market operators, with no substantive changes. Regulatory Guide 249 on derivative trade repositories and Regulatory Guide 268 on financial benchmark administrators are unchanged from the consultation versions. A separate review will update Regulatory Guide 211 for Australian and overseas clearing and settlement facility operators, which does not yet reflect the reforms.
