The Bank of Spain reported that the one-year Euribor, the main benchmark for mortgage loans granted by Spanish credit institutions, rose to 3.247% in September from 2.954% in August. The rate was 1.075 percentage points higher than a year earlier. Other official mortgage reference rates included 2.289% for one-week Euribor, 2.414% for one-month Euribor, 2.635% for three-month Euribor and 2.922% for six-month Euribor. The five-year interest rate swap stood at 3.450%, while compounded Euro short-term rate benchmarks ranged from 2.440% for one week to 2.034% for one year. The rates become valid upon publication in the Official State Gazette, which normally occurs several days after their release by the Bank of Spain.
