The Ministerial Committee of the Central African Monetary Union issued a communiqué after its ordinary session setting out progress across the CEMAC financial policy agenda. On banking matters, it reviewed the status of revisions to the regulatory framework for payment service providers in CEMAC and urged member states to complete the steps needed to make the regional banking mediation mechanism effectively operational. The session also reviewed implementation of resolutions from previous meetings and recommendations from the CEMAC Conference of Heads of State that fall within the remit of the Bank of Central African States, alongside current economic conditions, the short- and medium-term macroeconomic outlook, and recent developments in cooperation between CEMAC member states and the International Monetary Fund. For capital markets, it approved the 2025 annual report of the Central African Financial Market Supervisory Commission, noted the auditor's report on its financial statements and appointed a titular commissioner to its college. It also noted recommendations from the Action Group against Money Laundering in Central Africa to strengthen the regional framework for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing, and approved the Bank of Central African States' 2025 annual activity report and its 2026 amended budget, together with several measures on the central bank's operations.
