The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) announced the appointment of Marije Lely as a statutory board member responsible for steering the AFM’s digital transformation and overseeing its operational support functions. The four-year appointment takes effect on 1 October 2025. Lely brings around 20 years of experience in financial services, including senior roles at ING spanning business lending, HR programme leadership and digital transformation in wholesale banking. She currently serves on the management team of the National Heat Fund and sits on the supervisory board of Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft. From 1 October 2025, the AFM board will consist of Laura van Geest (chair), Hanzo van Beusekom, Jos Heuvelman and Marije Lely.

The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) appointed Marije Lely as a statutory board member to lead its digital transformation and oversee operational support, effective 1 October 2025. Lely, with 20 years of experience in financial services, joins the board alongside Laura van Geest, Hanzo van Beusekom, and Jos Heuvelman.
