The Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) partnered with the Financial Literacy Secretariat, the Division of Finance, Trade and the Economy, and other financial sector stakeholders to host an Investor Education Forum aimed at improving financial literacy and supporting informed investment decisions in Tobago. At the 28 May 2025 event in Scarborough, TTSEC Chief Executive Officer Kester Guy positioned investor education as a core complement to regulatory investor protection and announced planned initiatives targeting youth, women, and the elderly, to be delivered in consultation with the Division of Finance, Trade and the Economy. The forum also highlighted the evolution of the TTSEC’s Investor Education Programme since 2005, including practical resources such as gamification tools and tiered online courses, and featured presentations on protections under the Securities Act Chapter 83:02 from the Financial Services Ombudsman, the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad and Tobago, and the TTSEC; a follow-on session was held on 29 May 2025 for the Tobago Regional Chapter of the Credit Union League.
