The Central Bank of Cyprus is coordinating Global Money Week 2026 in Cyprus from 16 to 22 March 2026, as part of the annual OECD-led initiative aimed at strengthening financial literacy among children and young people. The 2026 theme, “Talking, Asking and Deciding Smart About Our Money” (Smart Money Talks), promotes open discussion of personal finances and encourages young people to seek reliable information and ask questions. Delivery involves the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Finance, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and other institutional bodies, academic institutions, non-governmental organisations and professional associations. Activities include information campaigns, educational screenings, presentations, visits and discussions with young people, workshops and seminars, conferences, distribution of information material and educational videos, as well as open seminars and lectures for the general public, a national competition to select Cyprus’s team for the International Economic Olympiad 2026, a podcast, training guides and knowledge quizzes.
