The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority has published its Monthly Authorised Deposit-taking Institution Statistics for May 2026. The release provides selected information on the domestic banking business of individual banks. APRA also published a back-series covering March 2019 to May 2026 and noted that earlier balance sheet data were issued under the Monthly Banking Statistics and, before March 2002, the Australian Banking Statistics. It flagged a series break from March 2002 because reporting requirements changed, including the treatment of resident versus non-resident data, foreign currency transactions and intra-group deposits and loans. The next release is scheduled for 31 July 2026 and will cover June 2026.
