Norway's Department of Finance has appointed the chair, deputy chair and members of the Financial Supervisory Authority Appeals Board (Finanstilsynsklagenemnda), a new body that will hear appeals against decisions made by Finanstilsynet under the new Financial Supervision Act effective from 1 April 2025. The board cannot be instructed on the handling of individual appeal cases. The board will be chaired by attorney Kåre Idar Moljord, with Professor Morten Kinander as deputy chair. Other members are attorney Kjersti Holum Karlstrøm, economist Joar Johnsen, district court judge Cecilie Kvalheim, attorney André Michaelsen, postdoctoral fellow Trude Myklebust, auditor Elin Ramleth Østli and associate lawyer Jens Christian Werring-Westly. All appointments run until 31 March 2029. Detailed rules for the Appeals Board are set out in regulations to the Financial Supervision Act adopted on 27 March 2025, and the board’s stated composition applies from 1 April 2025.
