The Council of Europe's Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) carried out an on-site visit to Slovenia from 29 September to 10 October 2025 as part of the country’s sixth round mutual evaluation. The review assesses the effectiveness of Slovenia’s implementation of international standards on anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism and countering proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) in line with the revised Financial Action Task Force methodology and standards. The evaluation team comprised MONEYVAL experts with legal, financial and law enforcement backgrounds, supported by the MONEYVAL Secretariat. Meetings were held with Slovenia’s criminal justice authorities, ministries, law enforcement and supervisory authorities, and other operational agencies, as well as private-sector and civil-society stakeholders including banks, virtual asset service providers, securities firms, casinos, lawyers, notaries and non-profit organisations. The mutual evaluation report is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the MONEYVAL plenary meeting in May 2026.
