The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group has appointed Kerstin Lopatta as Chair of its Sustainability Reporting Board (EFRAG SRB), effective from 1 May 2026 for a three-year term. The appointment was made by the EFRAG General Assembly at its 13 April 2026 meeting following Lopatta’s nomination by the European Commission through a Commission Decision, after consultation with the European Parliament and the Council. Lopatta has served as Vice Chair of the EFRAG SRB for the past four years and brings experience in corporate reporting as an auditor, consultant and academic, including work on boards and audit committees. EFRAG linked the timing to expected European Commission adoption by the end of June of delegated acts on simplified European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and on a voluntary standard, noting that EFRAG will provide implementation support on simplified ESRS.

EFRAG linked the appointment to the expected Commission adoption of delegated acts on simplified European Sustainability Reporting Standards and a voluntary standard, noting it will provide implementation support on the simplified standards.
