The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has eased auditor requirements for professional insurance firms, allowing them to appoint auditors registered in Section I, Section II(A) or Section II(B) of its auditor register. The change removes the previous requirement to use an auditor registered exclusively in Section I and is intended to reflect market practice and reduce firms’ costs. The decision covers insurance and reinsurance brokers, insurance consulting experts, and experts in risk assessment, inspection and loss estimation. It amends rules issued under the Unified Insurance Law’s regulatory framework and will take effect on the day after its forthcoming publication in the Egyptian Gazette.
