The Central Bank of Peru published data showing Peru’s non-traditional agricultural exports increased 22.8% year on year in May to USD 754 million, driven by a 35.4% rise in export volumes. The pickup reflected higher shipments of products including avocados, cocoa, frozen mangoes, mandarins and pomegranates, alongside a recovery in output versus the prior year when production was affected by adverse 2023 weather conditions. Over January to May, non-traditional agricultural exports totalled USD 4,226 million, up 28.1% from USD 3,299 million, supported by a 36.2% increase in volumes of non-traditional agricultural products.
