The Bank of Cape Verde has introduced “Saving Is Security,” a music project aimed at teaching the general public about money, saving and investment through Cape Verdean culture. The project uses accessible language and musical traditions to encourage reflection on financial choices and more responsible financial behavior. The composition draws on batuque and incorporates elements of Colá Son Jon. Its video will be used in financial education sessions during Savings Week 2026, which runs from October 21 to November 4. The main launch event will take place on October 31, World Savings Day, in the community of Vila Vitória, in partnership with the GARA Foundation.
