The Argentina Superintendency of Insurance reported that Superintendent Guillermo Plate represented Argentina at the second annual meeting of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Implementation and Assessment Committee (IAC), held on 6–7 May in Basel, Switzerland. The authority participated in its capacity as a permanent member of the IAC, a position it has held since 2018. It described the IAC as one of the IAIS’s five main committees, with a mandate to promote effective implementation of international standards, particularly in emerging markets, by supporting the application, review and analysis of regulatory and supervisory frameworks. The Superintendency also stated that it represented Latin America in line with Argentina’s recent appointment as president of the Association of Latin American Insurance Supervisors (ASSAL), alongside its role as Regional Coordinator to the IAIS.
