The Central Bank of Peru reported that exports totaled USD 109.413 billion over the four quarters through the second quarter of 2026, an increase of USD 26.321 billion from the comparable period a year earlier. Exports represented 29.1% of gross domestic product, up 2.5 percentage points. Second-quarter exports rose 35.2% year over year to USD 27.279 billion. The increase primarily reflected a 39.2% rise in prices for traditional exports, reinforced by 5.4% growth in shipment volumes. Higher gold shipments accounted for most of the volume growth, while copper volumes also increased partly because anomalous sea conditions had constrained shipments by major mining companies in the prior-year period.
