The Central Bank of Mexico announced it has received Central Banking Publications’ Digital Transformation Award 2026 in recognition of progress in modernising the critical systems infrastructure that supports its central banking operations through an Autonomous Decentralized Service-Oriented Architecture. Central Banking Publications highlighted the bank’s migration of key operations, including financial agency services and monetary policy implementation, to the decentralized and autonomous architecture to strengthen the resilience of core systems used for financial market operations and improve adaptability to technological change. The central bank linked the recognition to its work to build resilient financial infrastructures supporting domestic market operations and its mandate to maintain low and stable inflation, promote sound financial system development and ensure the smooth functioning of payment systems.
