The Superintendency of Banks of Panama has updated the provisions of its existing Memorandum of Understanding with Montserrat’s Financial Services Commission to reinforce consolidated and cross-border supervision of banks and banking groups regulated by both authorities. The update was executed under each supervisor’s respective legal frameworks and was signed by Montserrat Financial Services Commissioner Fabian Singh and the Superintendent of Banks of Panama, Milton Ayón Wong, who was represented at the signing by the SBP’s Director of Regulation, Ana Raquel Velasco. The revised arrangement is intended to deepen cooperation and information exchange with foreign supervisory bodies in support of banking supervision and financial stability.
