The Reserve Bank of Fiji announced the appointment of Ms Jacinta Hesaie as Chief Manager of the Economics Group, effective 1 May 2025. In the senior management role, she will lead the Bank’s core function of formulating monetary policy and providing economic analysis and advice. Ms Hesaie has been acting in the position since January 2023. She joined the Reserve Bank in March 2006 as an Economist, was promoted to Senior Economist in 2013, and was seconded in March 2017 to the International Monetary Fund Resident Representative Office for Pacific Islands in Suva before returning in February 2020.

Ms Hesaie has been with the Bank since 2006 and has served in various roles, including a secondment to the International Monetary Fund.
